We moved to an area of greater protection from the wind. Current location is 24º55'18.7"N, 080º40'24.2"W. The day has been spent on sewing and research to locate locations of interest in the area. The wind is likely to keep us up on watch tonight.

Today we moved from the mooring ball at Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park to a mooring ball at Shell Key (24º 55’ 39.1” N, 80º 40’ 14.1” W). Shell Key is a state owned bird sanctuary. The two moorings are within sight of each other, maybe 1.5 miles apart. But we made a 20 mile, half day trip out of moving. Actually we went to Plantation Yacht Harbor Marina to get water (we were out), propane (we were out), food (what we had didn’t really count), and gasoline for the generators. Eddy’s trip to the store was courtesy of a couple of ladies staying at the marina that had a vehicle. While we were at the marina the dirty clothes got washed. Eddy thinks mooring balls are great because you don’t need to worry about dragging anchor and floating off to Cuba or onto a sandbar.

The crew is working on the interior today. New curtains are the primary agenda. Tomorrow we will be going for supplies and will fill the water tanks. Bet we do not forget water for a long, long time. We will likely return to Shell Key moorings after obtaining needed supplies.

We continue to enjoy the use of the mooring ball.
